Charlotte Meek – Director
Charlotte is a third year Drama student at the University of Lincoln. Charlotte has always been a keen actor and director and has much experience in both areas, providing her with the expert knowledge to direct such a challenging play.
Through her time at university, Charlotte has had the pleasure of exploring the work of practitioners such as Peter Brook and Stanislavski, which have influenced much of her work. More recently, she played the ‘Cowardly Lion’ in LPAC’s Christmas production The Wizard of Oz. In addition to this, she has directed a 25 strong cast in Shakespeare’s Pericles.
On graduating Charlotte’s ambition is to teach primary school, she has already been accepted into a course starting in September 2013, unfortunately, this means 130,000 will be the last play Charlotte directs.
Josie Lockwood – Stage Manager
Josie Mae Lockwood is a third year BA student Drama (Hons) undergraduate at the University of Lincoln. Josie is particularly interested in the technical side of theatre and her involvement in theatre thus far reflects this. She plans to pursue a career in technical theatre after graduating.
Josie is the Stage Manager of Wake Up Theatre with a special interest in lighting and sound. Previous experience and knowledge of operating lights and sound in both theatres and concert venues have benefitted the company and allowed for a wider range of technical opportunities in performance.
As well as in interest in drama, Josie has a passion for music. At the age of nine she took up the violin and managed to achieve grade four as well as teaching herself the guitar and piano, with various degrees of success. She is very fortunate to have been to many concerts and festivals where she has witnessed and learnt from her favourite bands.
Kelly Bramall- Dramaturg and Assistant Director
Kelly Bramall is a third year student, currently studying for a BA Hons in Drama at the University of Lincoln. Kelly is presently undertaking the role of dramaturg and assistant director on an adaptation of Roy Williams play fallout. The finished production will be presented as part of her final degree show in May.
Recently, Kelly has being involved in a project which saw her exploring the possibilities of drama as a therapeutic subject. Working in partnership with St Francis Special School Lincoln, Kelly aided in the delivery and planning of a series of sensory drama based workshops for pupils with profound multiple learning difficulties.
Over the last year, Kelly has performed Shakespeare, experimented with the work of practitioners Vsevold Meyerhold and Jerzy Grotowski, grappled with the challenging work of Sarah Kane and physically explored societies stereotypical view of a ‘beautiful woman’.
Kelly’s present research project involves examining the editorial process involved in the creation of Verbatim Theatre. Focusing especially on tribunal theatre and the work of Richard Norton-Taylor, she has closely analysed the writer’s process between original documentation and playtext.
George Bernard Shaw states “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
As well as being an international superstar, Kelly would like to pursue a career in teaching.
Jessica Crosby – Actor and Assistant Marketing
Jessica is currently a third year Drama student at The Lincoln School of Performing Arts. Her studies at The University of Lincoln have provided her with an extensive skill set and knowledge of Drama, furthermore it has given her an invaluable life experience.

Jessica’s main role within the company is as an Actor, and is also involved with marketing the shows and company. She is looking forward to the first production of the company and hopes to make an impact on the audience.
Jessica is passionate about singing and performing, she likes to keep fit and healthy through sport and loves to ski and surf. Currently she faces the dilemma of what to do with her life! But haven’t we all. We shall see what the future holds.
Jessica Dyer- Producer and Actor
Jessica Dyer is a third year BA Drama (Hons) student, soon to be graduating at the University of Lincoln (UK). Jessica has always been interesting in acting, singing, dancing, and performance, and spent her twenty-one years studying, performing, and watching a variety of drama and performing arts.
Jessica is the producer of Wake Up Theatre, and is particularly interested in producing honest theatre reflecting real people’s lives and situations. Previous experience of producing theatre is limited, but Jessica’s organisation, passion, and enthusiasm for Wake Up Theatre will facilitate all areas of the Company to create inspiring theatre.
Jessica plans to pursue a career in coaching and educating children about theatre, in order to make a difference in their lives.
Leanne McKettrick – Actor and Assistant Marketing
Leanne Mckettrick is a third year BA Drama (Hons) student, soon to be graduating from the University of Lincoln. After this, she will be hopefully going on to do a PGCE in primary years, and eventually becoming a teacher like Miss Honey from Matilda.
Leanne is involved in Wake Up Theatre as an actor and part of the marketing team, she looks forward to producing work which is honest and reflects the world in which we are currently living in.
Julia Curry – Actor and Costume Design
Julia Curry is a third year student, currently studying for a BA Hons in Drama at the University of Lincoln. Julia is presently undertaking the role of actor and costume designer in WAKEUP Theatre’s adaptation of Fallout by Roy Williams.
Through her time at University, Julia has performed a lead role in Alan Bennett’s hilarious comedy, Habeas Corpus (where, certainly a lot of pants fell down), experimented with the work of practioners Peter Brook and Vsevold Meyerhold, tackled Shakespearian language and explored the way in which we can create beautiful theatre for children.
Julia is passionate about the theatre and the world that we live in. Which is why Julia will pursue her dream to travel the world once she has graduated and become a ‘real life gangsta’ for WAKEUP Theatre’s current production 130,000, Innit!
Rebecca Gibney- Actor and Props co-ordinator
Rebecca Gibney
Rebecca is a graduating student at the University of Lincoln. She has been passionate about theatre from a young age and has participated and viewed many pieces of theatre. Once graduated Rebecca aims to teach children with SEN.
Rebecca has worked as both a stage hand and assistant stage manager in various LSPA performances. This experience will be put to good use within WAKE UP theatre where Rebecca will be props co-ordinator as well as performer in the piece 130,000.
Chelsey Loveday – Actor and Financial Manager
Chelsey Loveday is a graduating student of the University of Lincoln, about to gain a BA (Hons) Drama degree. She has always had an interest in theatre, whether it was participating in theatre, watching theatre or teaching others.
Chelsey has previously worked for the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre as an assistant stage manager for a Christmas production of the Snow Queen. At a young age Chelsey volunteered at a drama camp for children aged 4-12 which she eventually ended up running herself for two years before she chose to go to university. She has also worked with children with SEN at St Francis Community Special School. It is a career within teaching which Chelsey plans to pursue at a later date.
Her role within WAKE UP Theatre Company is actor and the financial manager, handling financial reports such as the budget. Chelsey has always succeeded at maths throughout her education, although she hasn’t had responsibilities such as those she will gain when working for a theatre company, she is very eager and willing to work hard to complete anything that will benefit the company.
Rob Smith is a third year drama student at the University of Lincoln. Rob has been involved in performance from a young age and has studied Drama throughout his educational career. In addition to acting, Rob has a keen interest in music, having achieved grade 6 in Trumpet.
During his degree, Rob has developed his skills in acting, writing and directing as well as contributing creatively and practically to the theatre company. Rob has particularly enjoyed studying the Early Modern Period and the Post-War period featuring the most influential writers such as Shakespeare and Pinter respectively.
Rob plans to pursue a career in theatre and education, working with schools to create or enhance their drama program or experience.
Jessica Clubbe – Actor and Social Media Administrator
Jessica Clubbe is currently a third year BA Hons Drama student studying at the University of Lincoln. During her time at University she performed in several William Shakespeare plays and explored the work of several practitioners.
As well as drama Jessica is very passionate about musical theatre after recently having the privilege of being one of two girls playing ‘Dorothy’ in The Lincoln Company’s Christmas production of The Wizard of Oz. Jessica’s main role within the company is an Actor as well as overviewing the companies Twitter page. She hopes that the company’s debut production of ‘130,000’ will open the eyes of the audience to the current world that we live in.
After graduating Jessica will be perusing her musical theatre passion by working for several community and private musical theatre companies within the Somerset area.
Joshua Rivett – Scriptwriter/Editor and Actor
Joshua Rivett is a graduating BA Hons Drama student from Kent, studying at the University of Lincoln. At his time in university, Joshua has tried many aspects of theatre including acting, directing and technical. It is whilst studying that he discovered his passion for writing exciting and daring theatre which explores the realities behind the world we live in today.
Joshua embraced this passion whilst writing WAKEUP theatre company’s debut performance 130,000, and hopes the performance will leave audiences with new-found opinions of the issues raised. Joshua also has a passion for comedy writing and has aspirations of emerging onto the comedy circuit after graduating.
